Georg Goltermann

Danses Allemandes, Series 1 and 2

Georg Goltermann

Georg Goltermann (1824-1898) is best known for his 8 cello concerti, the 4th of which is still much used today as a student concerto. He wrote a great deal of music for cello, including many salon pieces. These two sets of German dances are examples. They are of intermediate difficulty, but when played at a professional level, they are delightful additions to the repertoire.
